Director of Clinical Services

The North Brooklyn Coalition Against Family Violence (NBCAFV) is dedicated to addressing systemic racism, institutional injustice and cultural barriers faced by survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and to ensure all survivors are empowered to direct and lead the movement to end domestic violence and sexual assault in their communities. Driven by the values of survivor-centered empowerment; community engagement and accountability; and diversity and inclusiveness, NBCAFV creates community-based support networks; provides supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and engages the community through outreach, education, advocacy, and activism.

Position:

NBCAFV seeks an empowered and empowering The Director of Clinical services is responsible for overseeing all clinical services. Primarily, they will oversee the Therapy Program and Case Management Program. They will offer insight, guidance, and support on clinical training, development of educational materials for outreach/community events and training, OVW Leadership Program and the 40-hour Rape Crisis Advocate Training. The Director of Clinical Services will also be responsible for compiling the direct-service data for quarterly reports. The Director of Clinical Services reports to the Board of Directors and will work both remotely and in-office as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide steadfast, staunch, and unfaltering crisis intervention to clients;
• Review intakes and assign therapists to clients and work closely with all clinical staff to address needs/issues;
• Review/approve case management procedures and client documents such as assessments, service plans, clinical evaluations, clinical notes, and summary of services in clinical database;
• Supervise case managers by providing regular feedback/guidance ensuring company policies and practices are maintained;
• Provide direct service training to new case management and therapy staff and facilitate clinical trainings with outside social service provider partners;
• Oversee individual and group therapy sessions and maintain personal caseload between 5-10 individuals;
• Review clinically related outreach and training documents/PowerPoints/manuals and workshop curriculums and adjust/update clinical evaluation templates including PCL 5/clinical assessments and medication request;
• Assist with troubleshooting Summary of Services database/note issues;
• Ensure all clinical documentation and procedures are uploaded into database and electronic files are up to date and organized to facilitate ease of use;
• Build a strong staff and culture by hiring and interviewing staff performing clinical duties;
• Cover hotline (10am-6pm) by reviewing messages, calling back clients, conducting intakes & assigning cases; and
• Submit regular and ad-hoc programmatic reports to funder.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or related field;
• New York State Certification in social work required, licensed social worker preferred;
• Minimum 4-6 years’ working with domestic and gender-based violence survivors;
• Knowledge of case management related to domestic and gender based violence and crisis intervention practice;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds in desperate crisis;
• Supervisory and program management experience;
• Is committed to understanding and continued learning regarding issues of race, gender, equality, diversity and inclusion;
• Excellent advocacy skills in English, bi-lingual Spanish or other language preferred;
• Computer proficiency sufficient to independently review and generate case notes and reports;
• Respect for fellow team members in all capacities (case managers, therapists, etc.) and ability to work in a team; and
• Professionalism, diplomacy and ability to prioritize requests, track and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Up to $80,000-90,000 annually, with generous leave time and medical and dental benefits

Hours:

35-hour work week, Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm. Evenings may be required to accommodate client needs.
